Symbolism: The Meaning of Everything Around Us

Transcript
00:01
Today, we're going to talk about symbolism. You know, it's funny when I say that. It's almost like I'm some sort of spiritual Mr. Rogers. "Hello, boys and girls. Let's talk about symbolism. Can you say symbolism? I knew you could." Then I'll get my sweater. It's a wonderful day in the spiritual neighborhood.
00:26
Anyway, thank you for joining us and we're going to talk about symbolism, the meaning of everything around us. I don't know that we're going to cover everything around us, but the meaning of everything around us. The meaning of, for example, out of the blue I started off with a Mr. Rogers reference. I've never actually watched Mr.
00:49
Rogers, but I know of him. But I made a reference. Someone out there is going to go, "This is weird because I was just talking to somebody about Mr. Rogers" or "He means a lot to me," or something like that. See, that's called synchronicity - when two or more seemingly unrelated things have a relationship after all.
01:17
And so that's, in a sense, tying in to the meaning of things around us. What is the meaning? What are the meaning of all these things around us? All the various meanings... There's not one, because we're in a multi-dimensional universe. So what are the meanings for me? The most important meanings right now, I don't have to unlock every meaning about every object in my room, but I do want to pay attention to the meaning, the most important, relevant meaning of something that seems to be standing out.
01:48
So to be aware of your surroundings like this, that's a master awareness. The Jedi knight, the awareness of the things around. There's a disturbance in the force means something's not quite right, and that's been depicted and practiced by masters since the beginning of time. They were taught, trained and tested on their ability to know their surroundings.
02:18
Now think about that, and it's no offense, but think about that, where, how easily are you startled? Well, this will not apply to all of you, but several of you would be able to say, "Oh yeah, God, I get so startled I'm anxious a lot," and so on. That's not a great sign in terms in terms of your integration, your presence gotta be here.
02:45
If you're hyper shocked into your body. Some people say, "Oh my God, I jumped right out of my body." A lot of times you're actually being shocked into your body. You were already out and somebody startled, you see, you went and you had to become present. And yes, sometimes you will jump out of your body, scared out of your skin as they say.
03:10
So think about that because you're not supposed to be out of your body whether you were already and jumped in or weren't and jumped out, you're not suppose to be out of your body. It supposed to be present. So the masters throughout history would go to rigorous tests to confirm and prove and help them go from being spiritually aware, to also present and grounded.
03:37
Therefore, they say, You can't sneak up on a Shaolin monk, the old Kung Fu TV show. You can't sneak up on a Shaolin monk. You can't, because they're aware. They're not like lolly gag and just all a low in their day to day. There's a presence. I want to be here. There's a love.
03:56
I'm feeling love, and I want to be here and experience it when you say, I really love someone so much, you say to a partner, God, I love you. So much I'm feeling such an incredible amount of love. I would love to make love as soon as possible so we can get it over with. It doesn't make any sense.
04:20
Love wants to be here, not get it over with loved ones to be here and be present. It doesn't mean everything has to take forever, but to be really fully present, But love makes us want to be present. If all you do is try to make yourself be present. It's not going to work as well as us wanting to be present, and all the wounds tend to make us not want to be here on earth at all.
04:46
If you have a tendency, suicidal ideation, if you have depression, if you have leaving your body excessively easily, startled and so on, and just so hyper stimulated, anxious, none of that is a good sign, but it's understandable. It means that in this life or another, there were significant enough wounds to make you that way. The good news, and the destiny we all have, is that you're going to heal.
05:15
So do not look at this as well. I want to stay this way. I have the right to stay this way. Yes, you do. You have the right to stay broken, because that's what you are. If you're like that broken meaning you're allowing your wounds to get the best of you and keep you out of your present self, your present moment. God is in the present. If you're not, then you're not in God.
05:36
So why would you want to a firm and say, I need that. I want that. I have to write to stop claiming the right to something that's unhealthy. Just say, I also have the right to something healthy. I want to be here. I just don't know how then we go forward in now now, and that's a topic of healing.
05:59
You can look at talks, I've done on healing and so for there's videos that we have on that you can get from Youtube and all that. Some are rentable, some are viable purchasable, and some are just free all over the internet. So whatever you'd like to get. So I can't elaborate much more, but remember, the healing would be to do things to help you feel present.
06:22
But if you don't remember this about healing and about trauma that anytime I don't work on an event, all it does is add to a collection of wounds. It doesn't actually do me any better to ignore, minimize, avoid, etcetera. These things then what's really kind of a bummer is that next time I have a wound, all the others are right there behind it.
06:55
So when I bring a wound forward or a wound comes to me, writing behind them are all the other similar wounds. If I have a rejection wound, you bring me all the other rejection wounds come writing with it. That's why sometimes we react the way we do or people in your lives that react the way they do. And you think, God, that reaction is not at all proportionate to what happened.
07:19
It is to them, because to them, they're feeling all of it at once. They only know of one perhaps, but they're feeling all of it, or you're feeling all of it if you're the one having that reaction. So keep that in mind that every challenge or test is an opportunity to release, not just one event, but all the patterns behind all the patterning, all the wounds.
07:43
Man, it really is why we call it a miraculous of that, why we feel such a dramatic change after a healing, because you didn't heal one thing, you held a lot of stuff and it feels great. And remember, we talked about this a couple weeks ago, don't forget to refill. Don't just work on stuff the rest of your life work on stuff and breathe in the new work on stuff and breath in the new.
08:12
Sometimes it won't even be aware of stuff to work on and just keep reading in the new new life, new life, new life, and keep moving forward. Now on that, that was because we were talking about people that are wounded are often like, uh, and they're watching everything that's different from being aware of everything.
08:36
So I'm mentioning trauma only to mention that trauma can bring us to a false version of the talk for today. And that's a high... It's called hypervigilant. Someone had dad used to come home drunk and then be abusing people yelling or whatever IT was. And so when... Since we hear we're trying to sleep, I could... We went to bed at 9 o'clock as children, we hear the car pulling at 120 and immediately were awake, and we start bracing for it, because here comes the trauma of whatever kind.
09:07
And I'm not trying to cause you to feel real sick and buy some of this stuff. It's just that's what happens. We become hyper vigilant. So hypervigilant means I'm going to try since I'm not safe, I will try to protect myself. And then we go on high alert and when you're on high alert long enough, you will break down.
09:31
You'll have a psychic breakdown, an emotional breakdown, energetic breakdown. You're going to tend towards chronic fatigue and illnesses that are hyper acidity in the system, fibromyalgia and so on. Because of hyper alert, you'll ruin your nervous system because they're firing all the time. The adrenals will burn out and the kidneys and so on. It's own its own.
09:54
You see it descends, it's just a snowball downward, a spiral downward. So on the flip side, there's an awareness, a full awareness. I am fully aware of my surroundings. Why? Because I'm here. So all of my senses. What senses will you have five taste touch? No, no. You actually have seven primary senses, five of the body, one of the psychic self, and one other that maybe we'll do a talk about some time that most people don't know about. But you have seven, really.
10:34
People are aware of five because they're still sense oriented. The ego is primarily running those five. The ego runs the cents, psychic perceptions, clairvoyance, clear audience, and so on a bit, but not as much as the five senses. The ego can't really touch the seventh sense that will awaken more and more in mankind. Now, we have this awareness, full presents, full awareness.
11:04
I'm aware of surroundings because I'm one with everything in hypervigilant. It's... I am scared because someone over there is doing something. So we're separate in healthiness. I'm one with everyone. That's why I'm aware of everything. There's something going on. Yeah, it's your heightened sound. I can hear better. I can see better. I can feel better.
11:32
All of my senses are heightened, and yet my higher senses are also kicking in, but they're also helping the other senses to kick it. For example, you might say, oh, Oh my gosh, I'm developing the ability to see ours and I can see, or as... And you get kind of product and see him with what your nose now my eyes, you actually think it's your eyes seeing or is, but it's really your third eye opening the six sense of you and You'll credit the eyes.
12:03
It seems like to a degree, our five senses get heightened, but it's really the sixth sense kicking in, that sort of helps them heighten. But in a sense makes us think it is them. And it's its own thing... Right, so on another note, just like someone who says they take away eyes and they can smell a bit more keenly. So it's like that.
12:28
The Sixth Sense when it kicks in it, everything seems to become heightened because something different is happening and we're adapting to it. So on that note, we realize we're connected and we're one with everything and then... And there are cultures that have practiced this as a way of life. Everything has meaning. "I'm one with everything.
12:47
" As I'm talking, something happens. I mention an arbitrary comment, a song lyric, and someone out there is going to go, "I can't believe he even knew of that song. I haven't heard of that song in 40 years or whatever it is." And that's because when I'm sharing, something happens where I just... It's an intention.
13:16
I'm here. I can't say there's a specific ritual that I do. It's just more of a, "Okay, let's go. It's I'm here." But what happens with the attitude of I'm here? Jesus told Helen, in A Course In Miracles, he said, if you want to tell people how to awaken their ability to hear me [meaning the voice of Christ], teach them, just tell them this: Tell them to practice saying, "Here I am" and be open.
13:43
Now, if you go "Here I am. I'm an amazing being ready to channel the highest domains." You're already done. Here I am means, your will, whatever you'd have me do and not do, say and not say... It's a humility, not a grandiosity. So, somehw that's just happened and it works for me. I can just go, you know... I don't even have to think about it.
14:11
It's just, "I'm here. Let's go." Oh, there's a question? Oh, we're... Really okay. You're hitting the record? Okay, go. And off we go. And it's kind of cool, but it's a choice any of us can make. It's kind of funny because Edgar Cayce, people would say, how do you do this? He would say, "Well, anybody can...
14:32
" And some of us, if you don't know how, you go, "Why does he say that? It's not happening? I can't do it." It's always awkward for some of us to go. "It's actually kind of easy." It's actually easy to say more than it is easy to do, because it's true, like when people say, "Michael, how do you know what people are feeling? You seem to, in counseling sessions, you just tune right in." I don't go into big ritual. I don't do charts in front of me and
15:03
all that. "How do you know to do that? How do you channel healing successfully? And tune into what's going on in people's bodies?" There's no training around it and there's no ritual around it. It's honestly, it's when you love people enough, then you're more apt to know what they're needing in the moment.
15:24
And my analogy has always been the traditional story of a mother who knows their child in trouble. That's all it is. I really... I say, that's all some people go, well, gosh, I wish I can hone that skill. Can you train? You can't teach people love, you really can't. You can kind of talk about and explain it, but you can't download it. You can't just give them that gift. They have to want that.
15:46
You have to want to love people enough to know what's going on inside of them. If you're still wounded enough, you don't have time. You don't have room to consider other people's needs. That's what happens. And that's nothing wrong with that. I'm sorry that you have the hurt and the wounds. So be it. So don't worry about other people.
16:07
Work on yourself and that's okay. But to become more and more, the healer, the mother, and so on, to be able to think about your children, your clients, your friends, or whatever, students in a bigger and bigger way, you do have to have enough healing done within yourself that you have time and room to consider other people in a greater way.
16:25
And the same goes for tuning into symbols all around you. You may not have what seems like the ability, but it's not the ability, it's the time to listen. It's the desire to listen. Well, what does that mean? What does that mean? What does that mean? Are you even listening to any one of them? Did you even stop and ask? Okay, fine.
16:48
Then I was sitting here in my backyard and a flower from a local shrub blew off and some pedals or whatever. And they landed on me. What did it mean? Well, with the ancient shaman, and Shamanism is a tricky thing to talk about, because there's a lot of people that practice Shamanism in a very dark, selfish kind of a way. So I don't promote that and recommend that at all.
17:11
But anything that was ever, is ever authentic about Shamanism, it would include things like in those old times. I remember a shamanic master from Central America talking to me. It's really beautiful how he was sharing that. The old tradition was when the Shaman, when the medicine man or woman was trying to help somebody, they would tune into what the illness is. "What are you? What are you? What's going on? What medicine would work for it.
17:45
Even Edward Bach, who created the Bach flower remedies, what an amazing story, because he started receiving guidance around vibrational energy in flowers and so on. And then what he started doing was, when he wanted to know what this flower would do for a person, he started getting sick.
18:12
He would get symptoms that that flower would be telling him, "Okay, we'll help you out. We'll bring out illness, sick symptoms, and whatever. And then you can take the essence and you'll say, it'll go away." And it's kind of a painful way to do it, but that's what happened. But what I'm saying is, you don't have to go through the extreme of the discomfort, but you can say, "A client is here and they're talking, they're saying, 'Nobody understands what I'm dealing with.
18:36
'" And you tune in and you use your imagination, heart chakra, and love, heart chakra. And you say, inside yourself, "What is going on inside this person?" And it starts coming to you because you're imagining, not so sympathetically that you become sick or feeling just what they're feeling to where you get trapped in the feeling. But you start to have insight about it.
18:58
And so whether it's a plant that you learn, it's medicine, what are you? The traditions are many, many tea leaves, coffee, many plants, and herbs and things on the planet were, the stories were, that the Shaman type of people would go and maybe sleep near the plant, take some of it, put it under their pillow, or take someone to hold it near themselves, meditate on it. And they would just start to see it.
19:28
It would start to present itself, "What I am." And so it might show them signs or symbols or whatever. So life is that kind of medicine. There's a word called Animal medicine. What does that mean? Well, medicine that you give sick dogs, obviously. No. The word medicine in the Shamanic tradition, native tradition, indigenous people use this, medicine, meaning like this symbolic, meaning the energy, the essence of this.
20:01
So when you say, "What is horse medicine?" it's not medicinal drugs you give to horses. It's horse medicine. What is the symbol of the, essence of the horse? "I was walking down the street and I suddenly turned in, I was next to a fence, and there was a horse standing there looking at me." You want to look at that and say, "I wonder what that means.
20:14
" Now, you can go inside. There are also many a dictionary out there, Animal Speak. You know, Ted wrote that. And he was great, probably the best of the best, Ted Andrews. And he passed away a few years ago, and I found him to be one of the most incredible people. And I don't even hear a lot of, any negative.
20:45
You know, for everybody, there people who had gotten a little negative crap that tthey want to put out on everybody. But he doesn't have a lot of that, thank God. Considering how much jealousy there could be from other people of other traditions, trying to say, "Oh, well, I know more than him," because that's what happens.
21:00
"Who does he think he is knowing animal medicine? I know more than him. I'm older than, I studied more than," whatever their stories are. He wasn't involved in any of that. He was just amazing at his gift. And one of those gifts, the animal speak, meaning the language of animals, what they mean, and oh my God, hundreds and hundreds of animals. And I've sat with him and I have to say, what impresses me more than what I've seen him do in conferences that he spoke at, and I spoke at, more than books that I know lots of people own about his Dictionary of Animal medicine. You can also see that online. But
21:43
what impressed me is this person, after speaking at conferences with him a couple of times, that was normal business like, "Hey, how you doing ____ We work. We speak. It was later, after the first couple of times of speaking with him, at conferences with him. It was later when, at a conference, for example, I ran into him, he was there doing a book signing, and I was there doing a book signing. I knew him and we knew each other.
22:16
We would say, hi, but I didn't expect to run into him. So when I did, I said, oh, you know, hey, how's it going? And what impressed me is Ted Andrews is well known, and yet he would stand. And people would walk by and say, hi, nice to meet you. And he would say, "Oh, you know what, here. Here's a bowl of animal figures. Pick one." For no reason. There's no money being made.
22:41
He would just say, he would just talk to them. He wanted to introduce them to whatever animal symbolism in their life at the time. And I'm just standing there watching this going, "Wow." And I thought, God, that's amazing. So he was done. "So how have you been?" "Great.
22:56
" "Hey, let's go sit down." And so we go and sit down, and we just hang out. I think it was on a lawn or something outside this conference place. And just talking like friends, and I love that. I love when people can stop all the airs, especially speakers, teachers, and just hang out. And that too is symbolic, because he's symbolizing spiritual integrity.
23:21
Thank you, Ted. And then you walk down the street and there's, "Oh God, a hawk. What does that mean?" You can look at the books and read, they're good to do check out. They're worth checking out, but you also need to ask yourself sometimes, "What does it mean to you?" So I was talking to somebody the other day at Unity of Sedona.
23:43
It was the most beautiful thing, because we were talking and all of a sudden this rabbit, bunny, a baby, went running by, and I knew it was running into this one part of our building because it knows it's safe there, which is symbolism. So here you have this new born bunny, and it goes running in and goes into this storage shed area, because it knows it's safe.
24:08
So a new born and it's a bunny. Beautiful. And innocence, and symbolism, symbolism, symbolism, and it goes in here to be saved, that symbolic as well. All of it. What is this about the butterfly over there, what is all this about? So you start to realize, you don't walk through life, here's life, and you walk through it.
24:34
Instead all of a sudden, here's the shift guys, all of a sudden, you start to realize, "I am it. And it is me. The rabbit." It's all synchronicity, like the Police song called Synchronicity. It's actually called Synchronicity, Roman numeral two. There's a song they did because that song in particular was the one about how everything is connected.
24:59
Because at that time, Sting was reading Carl Jung's book materials on synchronicity. So he was inclined to write a lot around that. So he wrote King of Pain and other songs that were metaphors or mirrors, and reflections of different things in life are actually within us. So if you have a messy part of your house, your whole house, if your whole house is a disaster area, I wonder with that means? Stop and ask. Don't get all mad at me. I'm just the messenger. What does it mean? "Wow.
25:35
If it is me, how do I come across possibly as a disaster area? Do I come across that way? Maybe I do, and then maybe I don't." I can ask some friends and they say, no, we've never been to your house. But what we know of you, you're always dressed great, you look great, all shining all the time.
25:54
Oh, does that mean I'm wrong about my house being a symbol? No, it means what I put out there is one thing, unfortunately in my house, maybe it's a different story. What if my house, my basements flooded? That's a specific symbol. What if my bed is not made? It's a symbol. Now, here's the tricky part again.
26:25
A I talking about dreams of houses and beds not being made and flooded basements or whatever, or real life? It doesn't matter. When you actually understand, life is but a dream. As Edgar Allen Poe said, "Life is but a dream within a dream." God, that is possibly the most perfect summary of this world. It's a dream within a dream. We're dreaming that we're here experiencing something, and it's just a dream.
26:54
My night time dreams are dreams. My daytime activities are still dreams. They're all dreams, but there is an importance, to a degree, there's an importance of dream symbols, sleeping or waking dream symbols. To become obsessive over these, which some people do, is not healthy. To ignore them is not healthy.
27:28
But to become aware, "Wow, I wonder what that means? I'm seeing a hummingbird and so on." Well, how far do you take it, guys? Do you say, "Well, I'm looking at a patch of lawn. God. I gotta get down and study every blade of grass to see what each one means." No. Lawn collectively is good enough, or the word lawn or grass, flowers.
27:50
But instead of thinking, you have to stand and look at everything, stop instead, and realize, start with the things that stand out, that stand out repetitively and dramatically. That's what to look for most. TThings that stand out repetitively and dramatically or both. Repetitively, dramatically, okay? Start with those. Otherwise you might be over-exaggerating, over-analyzing.
28:16
So start, be aware, does something stand out? I can use an example and there's one more thing to be warned about. The word beware, it means be aware, be aware of this, so beware. And there are people that take all the signs a
28:42
nd really go too far with them. I've known people like that, to just... "Oh my God, this must mean this," and so on. It's like, slow down. There's a person out there that claims to be a very famous spiritual teacher from the past, or a spiritual figure from the past. "Well, I'm the reincarnation of him." Why? "My initials are the same. My face structure is roughly the same.
29:09
" And they put together these things, and it's like, no, you're still not him. I was joking with somebody the other day, explaining that because they're saying this person claims to be, and I said, really? Well, I have long hair and a beard. Was I Jesus? No, no. You could put things together. You know who else was Jesus? Somebody once pointed out. The number of letters in Elvis Aaron Presley is the same as Jesus H. Christ.
29:35
You can really just try to take synchronicities and make them into something that they're not. Because you're trying to conclude something along those lines. This has the same number of letters. This person is this and that and the other. I can say I was mother Mary. That's why I'm Michael Mirdad and MM, come on after all.
29:58
There must not be anybody else with MM on Planet earth, like Mary Magdalene or another him, right? So which one was I? Let it go. Relax, breathe. Let them come to you. Don't go searching for these things. Let them come to you. Don't make things be... Gosh, I was just sitting at a grocery store and thinking, gosh, I'm feeling kinda lonely. And there was a checker at the checkout stand.
30:25
A checker that said, how are you today? Clearly, that's a sign. It just stop. Relax, Let it come. And I let it confirm itself. There are things that happened to me. I'm talking several times a day, like I wake up, sometimes in the morning. I'm done sleeping, let's say, and I'm not exaggerating because not all clocks are set the same, exact, you know, sometimes they're a minute or two off.
30:58
I get up, sit up in bed, and look at the clock, see what time it is. 4:44. Okay... So I stand up and I go pee or whatever, and then I'm meandering around, turn on a light, go and get something to drink. Then I happen to look up and now in the microwave, the oven or whatever those things are called, in the kitchen. It's 4:44 again. It was 4:44 in my bedroom, still 4:44, because a few minutes have gone by, but I'm in a different room.
31:24
So I kinda chuckle. And this has happened the last several days in a row, and then I go back to my room maybe to get books that I was reading, a book that I was reading that night. Prayer, have a book of prayers and on my night set. So I go and get it to take it in another room. And my clock'a now moved on to 4:55. And I just kinda left.
31:45
Now, what does it mean? Does it mean, I'm 44 years old? No. That I'm 55 years old? No. That I'm, put it together, 99 years old? No. What does it mean? What is it trying to tell me? Sometimes the synchronicities are just telling you that you're in sync. You are so in the zone that we're showing you this over and over, numbers or other kinds of things.
32:11
So don't conclude one-dimensional kind of an answer, especially answers that are self-fulfilling desires. So beware, be aware of synchronicities and signs that you have out around you, outside and around you, that would conclude something you really just want to be true. I have known people that have come to me and have said, "I am absolutely meant to be married to a certain celebrity.
32:50
" "Have you ever met them?" "No, but weird synchronicities, Michael, you just don't even understand it. First of all, my initials are the same as theirs... Secondly, their first name is the same as my brother's first name. Third, I just happen to turn on the TV, the other day, and they were on the screen. 4th, 5th, six, seventh, a magazine arrived in the mail and they were on the front cover.
33:06
" Guys, things that have to do with your desires automatically, almost every time, negate the whole thing. There might be some other thing in there. The thing could just be there infatuated with somebody too. Itt could be just a personal psychological thing. A wish, a desire, Be careful not to push all things into your way of doing it. All that is is ego.
33:33
"I want this to mean this. So there it is." Be a little, instead be a little more conservative about it. "Hey God, I just got this really amazing synchronicity, but I'm going to just hang back. And I don't mean to seem like a doubting Thomas, but you're going to have to send that about 100 more times, because this one's a little too raw for me.
33:56
It's a little too personal, so I don't want to just jump on this and take it as fact." Play with it a little bit like that. I have lots of things come to me and people come to me and tell me that they have synchronicities to share with me, to tell me things I need to be doing and so on. And they get quite ticked off because I will hang back.
34:18
"Well, let me think about that." Okay, whatever. They want, "You're kidding. I have the same synchronicity too, let's do that, this, that, and the other." No, that's not me. And I've had a good, fair number of people irritated, maybe even on a daily basis, because it just doesn't work that way for me.
34:39
And they're going to think that I'm a hypocrite, as a teacher. "You must not be really... Because you're not getting the synchronicity I'm getting." Yeah, that could be it. Or it could be that you're trying to push something that isn't real. Certainly not for me. So be careful not to push your synchronicities on other people. Be careful not to shout it from the hilltops yet. It's okay that Moses doubted.
35:03
It's okay that Noah doubted. It's okay that Mother Theresa always had a little bit of a doubt. That's called humility to say, God, Helen who wrote A Curse In Miracles, "Really? Me? Edgar Cayce, he was like, "I don't know, man." I think that's kinda healthy.
35:18
I'm not saying to be a naysayer or a negative, negative, negative person, doubting everything all the time. I'm saying just to be conservative. Is a beautiful, humble thing. You might be guided to do a particular thing, but I dont' know if that's me. So let me just be patient and say, "Now, can you give me some extra guidance on this?" So be careful.
35:49
Hang out, wait and see if it confirms itself dramatically enough and so on. And repetitively enough. And one thing I do, which I've shared now and again, but sometimes I just put these things to the test. Jesus says, "By the fruits, you shall know them." So you try something out to see if it kind of like the metaphor, knock on the door and see if somebody opens. Just see if it opens.
36:15
I'm hearing I should maybe do a talk on a certain topic. And then I might say, hey, what do you guys think about this talk we're going to do in a few minutes? Right now, this topic is coming to me. They can say, "Great!" They can say, "Oh, you know what? That's great. But somebody, I forgot to tell you, somebody just wrote in a few minutes ago and they're asking you to talk about this thing too." I might go, "Cool" because I don't mind feedback.
36:38
So I'm like, "Okay. Sounds good. I'll blend what you said they're looking for with what I was thinking of talking about," and off we go. So I don't think it's healthy for us to get stuck in a box and say, "I'm getting guidance and it fits into this box." Be flexible.
36:58
You might hear guidance about a book, writing a book. That's a popular one these days. And all too often, it's a metaphor. It's just a symbol. So what does it mean if you hear guidance, you're going to get married? It means you're going to join with new things, start new things in your life. What if you hear that you died in a dream? It means something of you is dying possibly, which then likely means something new can be reborn.
37:30
What if you see a loved one passing away? It could mean that they're going to pass away, but that's usually not going to happen. It does happen occasionally. Usually not. You dream of somebody passing away. That might be one of your psychic senses that you're aware, and you pick up on people when they pass, but for more people than not, more people than not, more often than not, sorry, you're actually picking up on something in you that they represent. There's something about them.
37:59
They represent something in you. And maybe that's coming to an end. You had a dream that you were eating or drinking, it couldn't eat and drink enough. Maybe I just am hungry for spiritual food, and I can see in the dream, or in life, that I'm wanting to binge.
38:20
Hidden behind binging, real life binging, not even to dreaming about it, real life binging. It means something. What do you think you're hungry for? Food? No, God, the food is how you misinterpreted the sign. And so you got in the addiction to have it of replacing the real message. I'm looking for God with food. So now I got addicted to the misinterpretation, and I keep doing it.
38:43
And the same goes for anything. Somebody could say, I dreamt that I had sex with a certain person, or I'm just feeling a desire to have sex with a certain person. What does it symbolize guys joining just joining with people, I want to join it. I love that person's energy. Maybe it's just about adopting some of that energy within yourself and so on.
39:10
And so everything outside it means something. You watch a movie you cry. Why did you cry? That's a sad movie. No, there's something it rubbed up against. Something that it was in sync with. So you didn't just cry at the tv, it's you that's got that feeling that needed to come out. See what it is.
39:35
If you just get a tissue, wipe it away and shut the tv, and you're done watching the movie. You missed another sign. There are so many all around us. We tend to obsess on the ones that don't matter and miss the ones that do. Pay attention. What is the symbolism of me coming more and more forward about Christ consciousness and caring less and less about the world that doesn't want to promote that and agree with that. There's symbolism to that. For me, there's symbolism.
40:01
Why are you listening to that? Even if you don't like what I'm saying, you're watching for the first time, it symbolizes something. This is still some message to you, and the whole... We're going to do an online course in a couple of weeks, the Revelation of the Divine Self. It's about a lot of things.
40:27
But it includes the ability to recognize that the whole experience of John, he was called the beloved Apostle, John. He was bringing to Jesus, he was the apostle that brings to the group, something unique. He was very mystical. Less literal, less historic in the gospels. He was more like, "Who cares where he was born?" He's like, "Let's get to the cool stuff.
40:55
" So he was more to the mystical and when he writes the Book of Revelation, he's bringing, not just what he brought to Jesus' group he's now bringing to the world, guess what? My being in the presence of this symbol, this guy named Jesus, he awakened to the Christ, but if I just sit there and twiddle my thumbs and worship Jesus over there, and then is crucified and leaves, I missed it.
41:30
So instead, he actually says, "We're supposed to get the consciousness of Christ and awakwn that in ourselves." That's what you're supposed to do with symbolism, is see what it means. Integrate the meaning, become it or anything of value you can extract from it. Draw from it. Let it change you. And if there's a positive way to change it, or teach you, even if it teaches you about negative parts of yourself, you can still learn from that. So I still will make it a positive.
42:00
So whether it's a positive states, a positive or a negative that's turned into a positive good, I'm good to go. So he says in the Book of Revelation, here's what happens. This really bizarre, Sci-Fi kind of story. And then there were four of these and 12 of those, and this happened and that, great earthquakes and seals were open, and I heard a voice, and it's just out there.
42:24
Fundamental Christians made it into a macabre story that's supposed to be a literal only, because they are literists, a literal story only about the Book of Revelation means the end. See, because the word can be interpreted, an ending, the apocalypse. The word revelation comes from the apocalypse a Greek word for apocalypse.
42:55
And it means, apoco, it means to be revealed, which is why we also translate it to be revelation. So it means when things are revealed, but for things new to be revealed, something of the old dies to make room for that. So it's taken so literally that, "Oh my gosh, something's going to end. Something's going to, oh, what's gotta end is the world.
43:13
The world is going to end, everybody's going to die, except we few Christians, we're going to survive, and we're going to go into the new world." That's how they take it literally. And then that turns a lot of people off to the book, or there's not a lot of really happy go lucky people hanging around going, "Hey man, have you read The Revelation lately? Oh my God.
43:31
Is that amazing when it talks about a third of the world being destroyed, and a third... " Nobody sits around going "God, there's some really light reading." It's not considered that. And yet if people understood it, you would only want to read that. I swear. It's like it would be one of, if not the only thing, it would be one of the top three things, books.
43:52
The average books being written today that are really pop, spiritual, the ones that are really wow, out there, always on Oprah and whatever, they're popular because they're able to reach a lot of people and they're able to reach a lot of people because most people are not really that awake. They're just kind of beginning. So it's cool.
44:12
There's books that are for beginners, even if they call it advanced, it's really just for beginners. And we know that because lots of beginners are reading them. The ones that are so far out that people don't really know what to do with them, like Revelation, even A Course In Miracles.
44:30
Although it's sold a million copies, most are sitting on shelves somewhere in people's houses. They're not all read. Most people haven't read them. I would bet you that 80% of the owners of the book, A Course In Miracles never read the thing and not because I'm dissing them or the book. I'm saying that they heard about it because everybody's talking about, because it's amazing.
44:48
They heard about they get home and they go, Oh my God, hundreds of pages, no pictures. This is not good at all. And they close the book or they read it and it's talking about, this is an illusion. They're like, wow, God can't wrap my mind around that. They got... They close it. So it's just the way it goes. And you go, okay, so let's move on and read something more shallow.
45:12
That's what some people will do. The revelation holds. It's like an encyclopedia of symbolism, and it's all about your awakening, not just my note on Jesus Christ. This is every human being, every human be throughout all time. We'll have to go through and we'll go through the revelation, their own moment where the veil, parts and God is revealed to them.
45:40
Again when it happens, it's not just because we sat there and read just the right book and owned just the right number of minutes. It happens in layers, and that's why there are seven seals, and that's why this happens. And then that happens. It's a progressive thing. It can happen in someone's life. Like for john, it happened in a moment like a meditation.
46:04
He saw all this, but that doesn't mean he experienced every bit of it in that few seconds or minutes, or an hour or two hours. He saw it all as a vision. It's one thing to see it as a vision. It's another to go through it, going through it as hell, which is why the book of Revelation includes stuff about the bottomless pit and locus coming out to sting mankind and saw all these freaky things.
46:35
It's because that represents our unconscious self, the ego comes out of the pit to try to cause harm and make you doubt yourself and so on and so on and on. And there's a point where the Christ comes in and levels everything that says enough, and that's when your Christ self becomes so bold that you allow it to say no to your ego, which also manifest is saying in our lives now to certain things, behaviors, people including ourselves now to addictions.
47:05
But it's amazing because this Book of Revelation is all about the Christ coming forever. And other Christians will say, it's when Jesus, not chris, but Jesus comes and kills everybody, decor, some reason. That's a glorious image to a lot of fundamentalist. That's not it at all. But what does die is the old self, the sinners all die. It's my old self, my ego self that dies. And that's actually a good thing.
47:29
Oh, it'll be amazing and really catastrophic, because Jesus is going to come and just stop as holy foot on all of'em to wipe him out. Why do you even like that? Why is that turning you on? You have to see a therapist, if you like that notion, the turn on should be that there is no death. What happens is, which was never of true value.
47:55
The ego self is told to buy, you serve no purpose. I'm just not even interested in hearing what you have to say and watch this, because that's another concept of boundaries. That's another demonstration of boundaries. Look at all that symbols around you. Even if there's a certain weed that keeps growing in your yard.
48:16
It's saying something to you, whatever kind of weed it is, it's going to have its own unique meaning. If there's a critter that's running by, it's not a nice thing to go into your cause to get some clothes and find a nest of black widows, obviously. But for safety sake, if you need to spray them, kill them or put them on your hand and carry them outside, whatever you want to do, but don't forget to ask what that meant.
48:40
You ran into a spider web today and it was the biggest bitter web you at over around into, maybe you ask yourself, what web did we leave, or is it a network? Why did I walk and go, God, I found the most glorious spider web. Maybe it was a symbol of, we are weaving a w
49:06
eb, a network on social media, so anything can have... You can't just say it, it has one meaning a dandy line has this, meaning and that meaning and every hundreds maybe in between, because it means something to you or to me, if there's a flower that I ask you, what is the meaning of this and your allergic to it, it has a different meaning that if I find it to be the most beautiful thing ever, so take time, what does this mean? What is Jesus and Edgar Cayce in his readings? They both said, there's a technique that nobody knows and nobody really practices. But they said, it's one of the most important lessons
49:40
tools, techniques to ever practice. And it's this. To learn, to say, what is the meaning of this? So you've upset me. Let me stop and look at that. What is the meeting, not just the symbolic meaning, like an object or a number. What is the meaning of this? Why am I bothered by this? And you track it.
50:02
And look inside and you awaken to new parts of yourself. The same with numbers. What's the meaning? Just ask asking, means you're... It's supposed to mean that you're opening your mind to let spirit reveal the meaning. So don't become heads walking around analyzing symbols, and then concluding a meaning. Let that go and open the heart and just say, "I don't know, show me, guide me," and really amazing things happen.
50:36
We find that the God that loves us, we find Christ or Jesus, or Mary this, or that, spirit beings, light beings, angels. They come and say, "God, thanks for asking." And they... Sometimes they reveal these symbols, these meanings, these beautiful messages, the messages can be, "Try to relax more. You've been working really hard," because maybe you had a light bulb burn out in your mirror. "Oh, a light bulb burned out.
51:02
" Maybe that's all that it was. A light bulb burned out. But maybe someone was saying, "Be careful, you're burning out." "Oh, wow. I should probably look at that." Why would they tell me that message? Maybe because they care. And I think that's a beautiful way to look at life. Don't turn symbols into fearful things.
51:30
Let them be the brilliant things that they are, the beautiful things that they are. They're bringing messages. What does this mean? What is the meaning of this mood? What is the meaning of this? That's why so many patriarchs and matriarchs in the Bible were told by spiritual leaders, their various prophets, and so on, to say prayers where you're saying, "No, even to moods.
51:54
What is this? What is this thing that's oppressing me? You have no place here. In the name of dot dot dot dot, depending on what part of the Bible we we're reading, in the name of the Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ, or whatever, I rebuke you. You have no plaice here, whether it's an addiction or, what is this?" "Oh, I'm feeling a craving again for whatever the addiction is.
52:13
" Stop and say, "Wait, what is this. Really? I'm a holy, multi-dimensional child of God. Really? And I think I need to light a piece of tobacco and stick it my mouth and puff on it. Really?" And if you still feel compelled, light it and laugh at least. At least laugh about it. "God, this is insane. You know, ____ I can't believe this is so bizarre.
52:43
I mean, I'm actually addicted to this stuff and yet I'm a holy child of God." At least own the humor of the paradox, the dichotomy, the silliness. Because when you own that, even with that kind of a humorous slant, you'll actually find that it will have less and less of a power because you're laughing at it, you're starting to get it.
53:06
At least you're getting it on a humor level. You're getting it. So, what are the symbols around you? Symbols as obvious as, I've had five narcissist partners. Well, yeah, that's kind of an obvious thing. There's a symbol there and they're consistent and you look at that, but it isn't just personality types you've attracted.
53:28
You know, what's the symbolism of? You woke up in the middle of the night and there was a certain... I remember when I... First year or two, I moved to Arizona, Sedona. Again, I'm often up in the middle of the night and doing things and walking around meditating, whatever it is. And I saw something that was so surreal and it wasn't a UFO a light being and so on.
53:53
And I have pictures of some of those things I'm going to post somewhere. I don't know how to do all that yet, but I've got to remember to post, because I have some really trippy pictures of things, various times in my life, but even just times in Sedona. But this was a really amazing thing, because what I felt from it.
54:13
To you, it might just be an animal, but middle of the night, I see something white drifting across the landscape of the house I was renting, and I'm like, did I just see that? Because that could have been a spirit being, corner of my eye, so it could be a spirit being, light, being of light. That's not going to be that big a surprise to me.
54:30
So I'm like, what was it? Because it seemed different and it seemed outside, oh, there's a spirit, angel or something outside. So I went to the window and it's not there. I saw it in the corner of my eye. So I moved over there to another window and I look. This gorgeous white skunk, amazing, beautiful, pure white, called an albino skunk.
54:54
They're not that common, but they're so beautiful. The symbolism of it, you might go, no, but it's a skunk. No, no. The symbolism of it was so beautiful, because it had so much to do internally with a child-like purity, but even just the of seeing this, it evoked like a child in me, which was good because at the time, getting here, in finding people to be a little bit, some people here to be a little more darker and competitive, than I would have thought, assumed or whatever.
55:29
So to see, the symbol was like magic, even within a moronic kind of scenario that some people were exhibiting. So quite beautiful. So what are the symbols, guys? What is the symbol of life and love and God to you? Try to remember this. When you dream, or waking, see symbols, remember, try to ask yourself, was it the symbol of ego or was it somehow God filtering, leaking into your dream? Watch for that.
56:04
To see which one should I be listening to. Something was happening in my dream. Instead of getting all caught up into the thousands of things it could mean, try to narrow all symbols in life down to this. Is that a symbol? Say, what is this? Is this a symbol of my ego that I need to see? A symbol of fear, d
56:32
oubt, regret, old patterns? Ten let me see that. Let me... I can even change it in my mind and say, "I just saw a symbol that seemed to have a negative vibe to it, but it's bringing up old negative experiences. Let me take that. Bless it, surrender it to God and turn whatever might have even been a symbol to you of negativity, all of a sudden into something beautiful." Anything can be done that way, believe it or not. You can say, oh, I saw a bat.
56:57
Oh, it doesn't that have negatives? It could have been Dracula, coming to get me. Yeah. Or it could be some, a different symbol, something that has hyper-senses, is able to navigate and get rid of the things that bug, because they eat the bugs. So maybe it's a symbol about.
57:17
"Wow, that's telling me that something's coming into my life to rid myself of the things that bug me." Watch, just watch and see. A negative, turn it into a positive, but the positives don't miss those. I dreamt of a... Let's say I had a dream of a white skunk. I had a dream of an angel, I saw an angel, I saw a white, albino skunk. Whether it's dreaming or in real life, waking life, the positive symbols, marvel at those.
57:45
You just had an experience that is spirit, because everything is a collision of reality and illusion, right here within the space you take up. So go for it. Check it out. See what it's meaning. What is it bringing to you, a sign of this that or the other, and soak that in, really just soak that in, and be willing to say, what is that? And when you can find that it's possible, when that book fell off the shelf, and it's a book not of shame and regrets, but a symbol of hope and a new life, maybe even the title of a talk that I'm doing, you just go, "Oh
58:23
my God," and you just realize this. It can't just have happened if everything is only this experience. This wrestling we do between God and ego trying to be present in our lives, and which one we want to finally listen to. Right now, we do duality and we live with both.
58:50
There's a point where we're just going to let one rest and one rise, and with it, we rise. That's the divine marriage that ends the revelation, The Book of revelation. So watch for symbols in your life that are beautiful. Right now, I'm a symbol. And if you don't like me, then you can say that was a negative symbol. This guy's talk. I don't like any of it.
59:06
I don't like him. So it's a negative symbol. How can you turn it into positive, and then watch somebody else? But if it meant something positive, if it was light, is it really me just sitting here or did something put you there to listen to this. Did something care about you enough to actually orchestrate me saying, just certain words for you to hear that might make a difference in your life? Believe it or not, it happens.
59:35
It's something more than a billion times greater than Santa who's watching to see if you're being naughty or nice. And when you're nice is going to bring you a nice gift. This is a consciousness that is incomprehensible, that loves you and supports that when you make choices for the healthy. When the unhealthy, it bids you to turn it into something positive.
59:54
But when something positive, I bid you to say, can you just see? Not because God needs credit, but can you see that? I love you that much? Now, what's the point of that? To know that God loves you, actually to know that you're that valuable to the only thing that matters, God. "I matter to the only thing that matters." That's pretty cool.
1:00:14
So keep this in mind. Take time. I can't do a talk and sit and translate every symbol of every creature, animal flower, etcetera. But just be aware that we're one with this. If you want to understand what these things mean, even if it's someone's illness or someone's emotional issue and you're a counselor, stop thinking of them over there and you over here.
1:00:35
Start thinking of, we're all one. What does this really feel like? And you'll know what they're feeling. You'll know what they're thinking and know what they're experiencing. You'll know what to predict and it'll come true. That's why, when I predict things, they typically do.
1:00:54
They typically happen, whether it's global stuff or whether it's somebody saying, "Hey, who's going to win this such and such?" I can, with pretty darn good accuracy, pick up on these things. Because they're all the same. They're all one, so you just tune into it. It's quite astounding, but yet it's not that, it's not that surprising if you recognize we're all one, how could we not know? So keep that in mind.
1:01:20
That's why when I started, I said, some people in history said, it's really easy if you just know how to do it. It's only easy if you understand. It's not just knowing how, it's understanding. And when you understand we're one, you'll know all that you need to know and you'll start giving thanks when blessings come your way, start giving thanks for the small blessings and never stop. And you'll also notice that they become greater blessings.
1:01:45
Thank you for listening. Thank you for letting me share this. This too is a symbol and you too are a symbol for me. So thank you for being a positive reflection.
